Houseleague Winds Down this Week

We will start playing our last sessions of this baseball season over the next week.  Saturday, July 27 is the last day for BlastBall, T-Ball and Jr. Rookie Ball.  Monday, July 29 will be the last day for Peewee Houseleague and Wednesday, July 31 will be the finale for Sr.Rookie House and Mosquito Houseleague.   BlastBall, T-Ball and Jr.Rookie will meet at the center of the soccer field following the last session for cookies, drink boxes and receive participation medals.  Sr.Rookie, Mosquito and Peewee  will meet at the Kinsmen Pavilion following their games for pizza, drinks and individual awards.

We hope everyone had an enjoyable experience.  We try our best as volunteers to deliver the best program possible but there are always areas where we can improve.  If you have any suggestions for improvement or would like to volunteer to help next season please let us know. Planning for next season starts in the fall.

We would like to thank all of our volunteer coaches for taking the lead for each team this season.  Even though these are young children it can be a daunting challenge trying to meet parents expectations and ensure the kids are learning and having fun.  We greatly appreciate the effort put in by our volunteers.  Please thank them for their commitment.

Lastly I would like to thank all the parents for making the commitment to bringing your children to play.  Baseball is a great sport for making social connections, getting active and building physical literacy especially at these young ages. Hopefully your child built some friendships, had fun and made some progress throughout the season.

On behalf of our Executive and Board Members enjoy the rest of your summer and hope to see you all back next season.

Overview

House League is ideal for the player who simply plays for the love of the game or for the player that would like to try out a new sport for the first time.   House League commitment is generally lower than that of a Rep or Select team and consists of a weekly game and randomly scheduled optional practices.  The benefits of joining a house league team include:

  • Affordability
  • Playing time is guaranteed. Every player who registers will play equally regardless of ability.
  • No tryouts are necessary to join a team. Players are randomly placed on teams.
  • There are minimal practice days and recurring weekly games, making it easier on the family schedule.
  • An emphasis is placed on having fun and fair play.
